First citizens' meeting in Holzkirchen since the beginning of the corona pandemic

Holzkirchen - The citizens' meeting showed which topics are of interest in Holzkirchen.

There was a request, especially for election posters.

A good 60 interested people from Holzkirchner listened to the report by Mayor Christoph Schmid at the Kultur im Oberbräu at the recent town hall meeting.

The presentation, in which the head of the town hall provided information on completed and ongoing projects, lasted around one and a half hours.

Of the inquiries and applications received, the topic of election advertising is to be dealt with in the market town council.

A large block of topics in Schmid's speech manuscript were planned construction projects, some of which cannot be carried out as planned due to the current situation in the construction industry:

• The expansion of the daycare center on Erich-Kästner-Straße will probably have to wait until 2023.

  Only then can a total of 36 crèche children, 175 kindergarten children and 100 after-school care children be accommodated with the extension.

• The ground-breaking ceremony for the new building yard in Marschall is also scheduled for early 2023 and the complex should be completed in the same year.

• Middle school is still on schedule.

  For the interim building, which will be used after the demolition of the existing school until the completion of the new building, the site on Baumgartenstrasse is currently being prepared for setting up the rental containers.

• An exciting project is the Maitz building area, which allows the allocation of plots of land for cooperative housing in order to create affordable living space.

  The "geMaitzam Wohnen" project group convinced the local councilors with their concept, which now needs to be further developed.

Cycle and footpaths important task

As the head of the town hall emphasized, the expansion of cycle and footpath connections enjoys high priority.

As an example, he named the footpath and cycle path between Holzkirchen and Otterfing and the kindergarten bridge, which was completed in 2021.

With the underpass on Buchenstraße planned for this year, there should also be a safe footpath to the town center for Holzkirchner living north of the railway line.

The redesign of the market square was high on the topic of local development.

Because the measure is funded by a special fund, it must be completed by 2025.

In the summer of 2022, the participation process with citizens and tradespeople is to begin.

Upgrade the historic core of Holzkirchen

Another goal is the upgrading of the Münchner Strasse between the train station and the market square.

The measures there are aimed at preserving and upgrading the historically grown street.

Although the judges recently selected the winning design for the redesign of the station area, Schmid believes that the entire implementation of this urban planning measure will still require a lot of staying power.

The sports development plan, as decided by the municipal councils in 2021, will also be defined, prioritized and implemented in short-, medium- and long-term measures, explained the mayor.

Local bus active from September

The local bus will be quicker.

From September, Line 1 will run every 30 minutes from the train station via the Ost industrial park to the Fichtholz industrial park and back again.

An on-demand service will be set up for the rest of the municipality.

The system can be compared to a taxi, in which the journeys are bundled.

Regardless of the distance, a ride will cost 2 euros for adults and 1 euro for children and seniors.

Mayor Schmid answered the questions and applications that were then dealt with directly, with a majority of Holzkirchner citizens voting for an application for the new regulation of the order of the election posters to be dealt with in the market town council.
