Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi today (Thursday) awarded the rank of colonel to Reut Retig-Weiss, the first brigade commander in IDF history and the first woman in that rank as a combat officer in the Artillery Corps.
Colonel Retig-Weiss, who was also the first woman to command the "Sky Rider" unit, will take up her position as the fire brigade commander of the "Bezeq" formation and the fire center commander at the National Center for Land Training.
