Assistant to the Iranian President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, stressed that the fabrication of political and media noise and the imposition of pressure by Western countries did not and will not affect Iran.
In a statement today, Eslami said, “One of the goals of the nuclear agreement is to close the file of empty accusations by the Westerners against Iran and cancel the embargo. In return, we accepted some restrictions on our nuclear activities and agreed to some monitoring measures in order for them to abandon their previous accusations forever and to cancel the embargo.”
He added, "Now that the negotiations to return to the nuclear agreement are taking place, they have returned once again to the same previous accusations with false Zionist documents, so there is no justification for us to continue to abide by our commitments," explaining that "this does not mean that we cut our ties with the International Atomic Energy Agency, but we are still practicing our activities according to its controls." But we removed the additional cameras that had been installed in accordance with the nuclear agreement... and if they have good intentions and return to their commitments in the agreement, we will also accept to return to our commitments.”
Eslami stressed that "the policy of maximum pressure exerted against Iran failed and they took the file to the Board of Governors of the Atomic Energy Agency in their last breath, and we responded to them completely legally, and if they wanted to abide by that treaty, they could return."
