Unusual mission for the Lenggries mountain rescue service: the rescuers, in cooperation with the fire brigade, did not move to a mountain but to the roof of a house.

Lenggries – The Lenggries mountain rescue team managed an unusual operation in cooperation with the volunteer fire brigade last Saturday.

Because this time the volunteers didn't have to rush to the aid of a person who got into trouble in the mountains as usual, but rescue a man from the roof of a house.

Mountain rescue service and fire brigade: rescue operation on the roof of the house

As the mountain rescue service announced on Wednesday, the alarm was raised on Saturday at around 12.40 p.m.

A 73-year-old collapsed on the roof of his house.

Construction work is currently taking place there during the week.

The homeowner climbed over the scaffolding to the top plateau.

There he lost consciousness, probably due to circulatory problems.

The rescue control center alerted the fire brigade and mountain rescue service.

"Our equipment and rescue technology can be used in many different ways," writes mountain rescue spokeswoman Lina Feile about the unusual task.

The 73-year-old was initially given medical care on the scaffolding and secured in a mountain rescue bag.

Meanwhile, the fire brigade aligned their turntable ladder.

The mountain rescue service then secured the mountain rescue bag with the patient and a rescuer to the cage of the turntable ladder, and together they were slowly swung across the street - directly onto a stretcher prepared for the rescue service.

Successful cooperation between the mountain rescue service and the Lenggries fire brigade

Operations manager Rolf Frasch emphasizes the "excellent and harmonious cooperation" of all emergency services.

"In this way, an unusual mission could also be successfully completed," writes the mountain rescue service.
