Thuringia's Interior Minister Georg Maier (SPD) believes that the raids on right-wing extremists and in the drug milieu have had a lasting impact on the scene.
It is a "very, very radical and violent form of right-wing extremism," said Maier on Thursday in Erfurt.
The fact that three sharp weapons were also found indicates “that we cannot ignore the topic of terrorism here”.
Erfurt - Maier also spoke of an "effective hit" against right-wing extremism and organized crime in Thuringia and a sustained blow to the scene.
On Thursday night, around 550 officers from Thuringia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Hesse and Bavaria searched premises in Thuringia, Berlin and Schleswig-Holstein and executed a total of seven arrest warrants.
According to the Thuringian State Criminal Police Office, two of the men were members of the "Turons", two others were assigned to the "Garde 20" group.
Both groups are part of the neo-Nazi network "Bruderschaft Thuringia", which has been in the sights of the Thuringian constitutional protection for years.
According to the information, the other suspects belonged to the drug scene.
