Damascus-SANA

With the aim of raising the rate of those immunized and maintaining the stability of the epidemiological situation, the Ministry of Health is launching the second intensive national campaign for vaccination against the Corona virus under the slogan “A new opportunity to be safe” from the 19th to the 30th of this June.

Razan Al-Tarabishi, director of primary health care in the ministry, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the campaign targets all citizens over the age of 18 in all governorates by going directly to approved centers in hospitals, health centers and mobile teams equipped with an official mission.

About 7,400 health workers across 37 hospitals, 986 health centers and 386 mobile teams are participating in the campaign, indicating that the ministry has completed all technical and logistical preparations to launch the campaign and reach all citizens by securing their supplies and providing mobile teams with heat packs to ensure that vaccines are kept safely.

Al-Tarabishi stressed that the vaccine is the only solution to maintain the stability of the epidemiological situation and eliminate the pandemic, explaining that it is safe, effective and free, and it is allowed, according to the recent recommendations of the World Health Organization, to be given to a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, while contraindications to giving are limited to allergy to a previous vaccine dose or current infection with the virus.
