A teenager tried to steal a car and was caught by a pensioner.
The 67-year-old suffered serious injuries.
Memmingen/Munich - A man was seriously injured trying to stop a teenager from stealing his car.
A 67-year-old observed on Wednesday (June 15) from the anteroom of a beverage store in Memmingen how a stranger apparently wanted to gain access to his car.
The police announced on Thursday.
According to the press release, the incident happened around 1:55 p.m. on Münchner Strasse.

The 67-year-old had left his keys in the car.
Noticing his car moving out of the parking space, he rushed to his car.
He tried to stop the perpetrator and booted into the open passenger window.
The driver then accelerated.
The pensioner was briefly dragged along, thrown out of the vehicle and seriously injured.

Memmingen: suspect known to the police – and apparently under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crime
A few meters further, the perpetrator drove the stolen car into a vehicle ahead.
Then he escaped.
Search measures initiated by the police for the stolen vehicle and the perpetrator were initially unsuccessful.
According to the police, the suspect is a 17-year-old who is already known to the police.
He was obviously intoxicated at the time of the theft.
