Wolfratshausen - All fifth to ninth grades and the so-called M-class of the middle school in Waldram are moving to the new school center on Hammerschmiedweg in the city center: The city council made this fundamental decision in November 2020 with 17:8 votes.
As reported, things are going faster than expected - the future fifth graders are supposed to go to school near Loisach from September.
There is resistance to this – and it is growing.
The dice fell in the most recent meeting of the culture committee of the city council in Wolfratshausen.
With one exception, the members of the committee voted for the Waldram middle school students to pack their moving boxes in the coming summer holidays.
Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner and the city council's school officer, Fritz Meixner, explained the reasons in detail in an interview with our newspaper.
Why is the move happening so quickly?
"On this issue, the city is only reacting to the current situation - we are doomed to act," says Meixner.
There was a “massive slump” in school enrollments that was not foreseeable.
Meixner: "We didn't push the merger from September or even plan it well in advance.
For us it is - you could say it like that - the choice of the lesser evil:
Parents cannot understand the decision
Stephanie Hanna-Necker, Chairwoman of the Parents' Council of the Waldram elementary and middle school, and Elisabeth Breastmann, co-founder of the parents' initiative "Strong for our children - the 5th grade of the Waldram middle school will remain", is not convincing.
They cannot understand that the Waldram fifth-graders are "relocated" from a school that has been renovated with many millions of euros to a teaching location that will probably become a major construction site from 2023.
As reported, the school location on Hammerschmiedweg is being completely renovated and expanded.
According to the current status, the municipality is investing around 50 million euros - the city council expects the final construction measures to be completed in 2027.
Supported by the parents' council, breast man initiated a signature campaign for the fifth graders to remain on Kardinal-Wendel-Strasse before the Pentecost holidays.
"We go from house to house," says Hanna-Necker.
She does not want to reveal how many signatures have already been signed.
"First of all, we're going to continue to collect diligently." According to Hanna-Necker, citizens can enter their names in the lists at the Edeka market in Waldram, at the Backhupferl on Schiesstättstraße and at the Backstüberl in Weidach.

With regard to the teacher hours, the parents' initiative insists, among other things, on a "comparison of the hours required for the future sixth to ninth grades plus M-10 classes in order to calculate how much capacity is left for the future fifth grades".
Only then, according to Brustmann, "and only then can one decide on the basis of well-founded figures whether single-moving can continue to exist at both schools - without damaging other classes." , 24 to 25 potential middle school students.” There would also be enough girls and boys for “independent class formation” at the Hammerschmiedweg site.
If the political decision-makers stick to the fact that the two fifth graders will cram at the same location from September, there is only one option for breast man, Hanna-Necker and their comrades-in-arms: "We demand that decisions be made for the children's well-being - and they be taught in a protected place, without noise, dust and construction chaos" - on Kardinal-Wendel-Straße in Waldram.
