Tishreen Art Gallery hosted the inauguration of an exhibition of photographs on the publications of Al-Shahba periodical cultural magazine on the occasion of the issue of issue 30 on the eleventh anniversary of its founding.
The magazine, which is issued quarterly, includes many intellectual and cultural materials that highlight the heritage and ancient history of the city of Aleppo.
Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Aleppo Culture, explained in a statement to SANA reporter the importance of this magazine, which has been going on for 11 years despite the attempts of dark thinkers to undermine the owners of bright minds and target human minds and cultural centers.
He explained that Al-Shahba magazine sheds light on the culture of the city of Aleppo and the ancient Syrian civilization, and documents a whole era of giving and cultural and cognitive achievements, and is concerned with the Syrian heritage issue, indicating that it contributed to documenting and preserving Aleppo’s past, in addition to many elements in the field of Syrian human heritage.
The exhibition included honoring the contributors to the founding of the magazine, including writers, presidents, editors, intellectuals and poets who had a prominent role in enriching al-Shahba magazine and its continuity of issuance. We live in the current stage to confront all forms of obscurantist thought on Syria.
The writer and researcher Muhammad Qaja, who has accompanied the magazine since its inception, pointed out the distinction of the cultural work that it presents, which varied between activities, seminars and parties, pointing to its importance in intellectual, cultural and cognitive awareness, in addition to its role in documentation.
Among the readers of Al-Shahba magazine, the artist Lucy Maqsoud stressed the necessity of continuing the issuance of this comprehensive magazine so that the new generation could learn about our ancient intellectual and cultural history.
