Bad Wiessee – The municipality of Bad Wiessee is introducing digital parking space management.
The start of the pilot project is on the Sonnenbichl car park.
According to the municipality, the Sonnenbichl car park in Bad Wiessee is a popular contact point for hikers and mountaineers and is now the scene of a pilot project because it is so well frequented.
There will soon be a so-called digital parking space management.
The license plates of the vehicles are scanned at the entrance to register the start of parking.
After entering the number plate, the driver determines the exact parking time and thus the individual fee when exiting.
The prices are bound to the local tariffs.
Penalize illegal parking at Sonnenbichl more easily
If you drive away without paying, you will be fined a higher user fee.
The new system is organized, installed and maintained by Avantpark from Munich.
"This new system, which we are now going to test for the first time at Sonnenbichl, is not only an important step towards digitization, but also frees up capacities that we urgently need," says Maximilian Macco, head of the regulatory office.
What is meant by this is the urgent desire of the population to punish illegal parking - especially when rescue routes or fire brigade access roads are blocked.
Mayor Robert Kühn is also enthusiastic about the new technology.
"A parking lot where you can not only pay digitally, but which is also controlled digitally, is ultimately also a great advantage for the user," he says.
"Because this way you only pay for the duration of your individual stay and you don't run the risk of getting a ticket for an expired parking ticket."
Digital parking also at Wallbergbahn
The principle has also been implemented in the car park at the Wallbergbahn in Rottach-Egern since May, as reported by Brauneck- und Wallbergbahnen GmbH on its website.
There is now a barrier-free parking lot system with license plate recognition.
Wallbergbahn users park at a 50 percent discount.

"The parking fee is only to be paid at the end of the parking period at the machines at the exit of the Wallbergbahn or on the forecourt in front of the entrance," it says.
"Payment is possible with coins, bills and cashless."
When exiting, the camera captures the number plate and shows it with a green background as paid on the exit display board.
The registered license plates are only stored until the payment process has been completed and then deleted, the company explains.
