Pink Time: The Favorite Wine Festival is back - we checked out what it has to offer Israel today

2022-06-16T08:03:39.507Z

Next week will see the launch of the "White" festival, which is entirely dedicated to white wine, but also to Rosa.

"How do you know that spring is coming?", Asks the famous children's song, and also answers - "Looking around".

And how do you know summer is coming?

easy!

You can see that the demand for white and pink wines has risen - in restaurants, bars, wine shops and retail chains.

In recent years, there has also been a real shortage of white wine grapes in Israel, and many wineries are emerging for the benefit of smart farmers who knew how to plant vineyards of the grape-challenged grape varieties ahead of time.

In 2008, when "Grape Man" Haim Gan first produced the "White on the Water" festival in the port of Herzliya, many raised an eyebrow.

An entire festival dedicated entirely to white and pink wines?

But 14 years ahead - this is one of the most sought after and natural events, and next week (Wednesday and Thursday, June 23-22) the festival will be held again at the same place, in the evening, with thousands attending a fine summer tasting of more than 120 white, blushed and sparkling wines. Culinary complex, experience of music, flavors and a wonderful breeze from the sea.

"In a discussion at the Vine and Wine Council in 2007, we presented the vision for white and blushed wines in Israel," Gan tells us. Since then, the young and rooted Israeli consumer has found white and red wines to be the right and healthy wines for the Israeli climate.

"At the same time, many importers continue to challenge the consumer with a respectable variety of such wines from around the world, and their supply in the country increases accordingly, with a new variety of local varieties and strict adherence to elite wines. I see it as a maturity certificate for the Israeli consumer."
