The President of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin emphasized that his country could become part of Russia as a separate entity while retaining the word "republic" in the name.
In an interview with “RT” at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, Pushilin spoke about keeping the phrase “People’s Republic” in the name and joining Russia, wondering how one contradicts the other, and likened this situation to the Russian Republic of Tatarstan.
The President of the Lugansk People's Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, had announced earlier that a referendum might be organized soon in the territory of the republic on its accession to the strength of Russia.
