The Ministers of Water Resources, Dr. Tammam Raad and Electricity, Engineer Ghassan Al-Zamil, discussed the mechanism of cooperation and coordination between the two ministries to find solutions to drinking water pumping problems and the measures that must be taken in order to ensure the continuity of electricity supply to the pumping stations.
It was agreed during the meeting that took place today in the Ministry of Electricity building that the water institutions in the governorates will announce their projects in terms of implementing the electrical infrastructure necessary for the work of drinking water pumps and wells, under the technical supervision of the Ministry of Electricity.
Minister Raad stressed the need to redouble efforts, increase meetings, and find joint operating rooms in each governorate that include stakeholders in the water and electricity sectors to address problems according to proportional schedules and programs to ensure a minimum weekly supply of drinking water.
In turn, Minister Al-Zamil stressed the importance of cooperation between the directors of the electricity companies and the directors of the water institutions concerned in the two ministries to find common solutions to the problems of pumping water to ensure the continuation of pumping to all residential areas, indicating that any power line that feeds water pumps and wells belonging to water institutions and is independent of residential areas has been exempted from rationing to ensure Continuing the process of pumping drinking water.
