There is an anniversary to make up for: 50 years Musikfreunde Tutzing.

As early as 1971, music-loving citizens came together on a voluntary basis and with great commitment to form the "Circle of Friends for the Promotion of Music in Tutzing".

The round anniversary should have been celebrated in a big way last year, but fell by the wayside due to the corona.

Tutzing

- For this Sunday, June 19th, music lovers invite you to the second attempt at the big festival concert.

In the 50 years of its existence, the entire range of cheerful and serious classical music has been presented to subscribers and guests.

The wide variety of programs begins with a piano solo and ends with an octet.

The concerts mainly take place in the music hall of Tutzing Castle, which is why they have been known as “Castle Concerts” for many years.

Throughout the year, Musikfreunde Tutzing organize five classical concerts with renowned national and international artists.

Young, promising musicians are also supported in the “Stars of Tomorrow” series.

Special highlights were also large concerts with up to 500 listeners, which were held in suitable rooms such as the Church of St. Joseph or in the Würmsee Hall or as an open air event in the courtyard.

More listeners are also planned for the festival concert, which is why it takes place in the Würmseehalle in Tutzing.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra is playing there with a large cast.

The famous Symphony No. 40 in G minor K. 550 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be heard, the no less well-known Symphony No. 5 in B flat major D 485 by Franz Schubert in the same instrumentation and - as a world premiere - by Reiner Ginzel the Brahms Metamorphosis No. II. In this piece, the works that Brahms composed or completed in Tutzing (the two string quartets op.

51 and the Haydn Variations) reflected musically.

Professor Reiner Ginzel has also taken over the direction of this concert.

All visitors to the concert are invited to toast this anniversary with a glass of sparkling wine.

In addition, the municipality of Tutzing will honor the music lovers in a special way on this evening for their decades of voluntary work.

After the corona restrictions have been lifted, enough tickets can be offered in open sale again.

It is advisable to secure good seats early and to use advance sales (17 to 19 euros), which are cheaper than at the box office.

Tickets are still available in advance (on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.) at the travel agency House of Travel Tutzing (Hauptstraße 52), telephone (0 81 58) 2 59 50).

Remaining tickets are available from 6 p.m. at the box office.

Ticket reservations can also be made by calling Ursula Müller on (0 81 58) 38 76. Further information is available online at musikfreunde-tutzing.info.
