The Moosburg beekeeping association has existed for 99 years, but it was only shortly before the big birthday that they really felt at home.
Moosburg
- The club has made its home a few meters from the West Tangente.
Here beekeepers are trained and trained, but above all, many Moosburgers should be granted deep insights into nature on their doorstep.
The beekeepers have wanted their own clubhouse for a long time, but it has only been possible to build one in recent years.
The city and club found the right piece of land on a small cul-de-sac off the Westtangente, not far from the road in the direction of Feldkirchen.
At the opening, the chairman Franz Härtl was enthusiastic about the small bee paradise.
This is now the center of the association, which has 165 members, including around 100 active beekeepers with 740 bee colonies.
These members can continue their education in the clubhouse with courses.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
Behind the house is the home of the association bee colonies, where the practical part of the training can take place during the courses.
The association bees are also available for visits from school classes or groups of children.
"I see a certain alienation from nature," says Franz Härtl.
"That's why we want the children to see that the honey doesn't come from China and doesn't come from a plastic tube either." With a beehive behind glass, you can observe the processes of the bee colonies up close.
The association also offers nesting sites for wild bees on the site.
Here, Härtl and his fellow campaigners would like to show children how important and actually irreplaceable these animals are for nature with their pollination power.
Praise from the former mayor: Members helped each other out like bees
"The beekeepers themselves are like their own colony of bees," said Moosburg's former mayor, Anita Meinelt, full of admiration for the commitment during the construction period.
The members would have worked together like bees to create great things as a perfectly functioning community.
The location that has now been found is "really good," said Meinelt, who previously set the course for the project with the association as mayor.

The Moosburg club was founded in 1922 and now you already have the place where the 100th anniversary of the club can be celebrated next year.
The opening of the club house will certainly be celebrated as a milestone when looking back on a century of hobby beekeeping in Moosburg.
