Landsberg – In the end, the game of the TSV Landsberg men’s handball team, which was not quite as straightforward, still found a happy ending: With a deserved 28:23 win against SG Kaufbeuren/Neugablonz, they secured the play-ups on Tuesday District Oberliga Alpenvorland the championship and promotion to the national league.

As reported in KREISBOTEN, the game was scheduled for the second time after the game community was unable to provide a playable team at the first date on Saturday.

This time, the Ostallgäuer lined up with 13 men, who were definitely an opponent to be taken seriously.

After a short scan, the Landsbergers came into play quite well, the defense stood up and they scored a few goals (6:3/10.).

But the guests were particularly dangerous with their individual strength.

A few unused TSV attacks and the SG were back on par again (7:7/15th).

The Landsberg attack didn't really gain momentum, lacking the pace and the pressure.

But after a break, things went back to the way you know it from the team: fast, straight-forward attacks, moving towards the goal and safe shots.

So they pulled away to 17:9 until the break.

After the change, the hosts immediately followed suit (21:11 / 37.), but then the Landsbergers broke up - hardly understandable from the outside, but not unknown even with the best teams.

A few misses, technical errors and security is lost.

Landsberg only managed one goal in 17 minutes, the ball just didn't want to go into the SG box anymore.

And the game community from Kaufbeuren made clever use of the Landsberg mistakes.

They worked their way up to the East Allgäu goal by goal (22:16/46.).

In this phase, Hendrik Nietsch prevented worse things from happening in the TSV goal with great reactions.

The Lechstadt team's break didn't really bear fruit at first either.

They continued to strive, but the obvious efficiency in their actions was still lacking.

Then Kaufbeuren was in for a goal and in possession himself (22:21/52.).

The attack was repelled and it was Andi Leppert who broke the spell: he fueled himself through the middle and scored the important goal to make it 23:22 (55th).

The guests then managed to score another goal, but now the Landsberg team was working again.

Despite muscular problems, Fynn Meier caught a counterattack with a great sprint.

Landsberg came back into play via the fight.

And met again.

In the end there was a five-goal lead.

The cheering in the well-attended Isidor-Hipper-Halle was huge because of the safe ascent and there was a champagne shower for the trainer Dirk Meier on the field.

And then he was really proud of his team: "The course of the game was certainly not necessary, but the boys pulled out of it again and had the patience to continue."

Strong team

Championship and promotion are a great success that was not to be expected.

Many have contributed to it: About 30 players made it possible.

“It starts with the A youths, who have always been with us in training to make sensible units possible or have helped out themselves;

That was very important,” emphasizes the coach.

And Meier continues: "We also have to thank the boys from the second class, who helped out again and again - sometimes at very short notice.

This is the only way something like this could grow.” TSV department head Roland Neumeyer adds: “The game was a bit stressful at times, but this is a great team that really deserves the success.”

The second leg in Kaufbeuren on Saturday is meaningless.

Nevertheless, the people of Lechstadt want to compete and try to provide a powerful team.

Playing for TSV Landsberg on Tuesday were: Dominik Keller, Timo Stassek, Hendrik Nietsch, Piepenburg Gatto (1), Tobias Giez (2), Christian Eisen (3), Johannes Kauter, Fynn Meier (6/3), Andreas Leppert (2 ), Alexander Schwarz (2), Nico Jorasch, József Balogh (5), Kai Roth (7/3), Paul Schweitzer.
