HSV starts season in Braunschweig: city duel in October

Hamburger SV starts its fifth season in the 2nd Bundesliga with a duel against Eintracht Braunschweig.
The game will take place on July 16 or 17 at Eintracht Stadium.
Hannover 96 opened the new second division season the night before with an away game at newly promoted 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
"Having the opening game is always something special," said sporting director Marcus Mann.
Hamburg - "It will not be easy, but a very interesting task."
FC St. Pauli welcomes promotion co-favorites 1. FC Nürnberg on the first day of the game.
Holstein Kiel has to start with SpVgg Greuther Fürth, who have been relegated to the Bundesliga.
Hansa Rostock has to deal with 1. FC Heidenheim.
On the second day of the game, HSV will have another northern duel when they appear in the Volksparkstadion.
For the first of two explosive Hamburg city duels of the season, FC St. Pauli is expecting Hamburger SV on the twelfth matchday (14th to 17th October).
The first round of the similarly emotional Lower Saxony derby between 96 and Eintracht Braunschweig is scheduled for the eighth matchday in Hanover (September 9th to 12th).
The first series of the 2nd Bundesliga ends in mid-November due to the World Cup in Qatar.
The season will not continue until January 27th with the 18th matchday.
The season ends on May 28th.
