Davis Cup professional Oscar Otte surprisingly reached the semi-finals of the lawn tournament in Halle, Westphalia.
The 28-year-old tennis player from Cologne won against the Russian Karen Chatschanov 4: 6, 7: 6 (7: 5), 6: 4 in the quarter-finals on Friday and thus underlined his strength about a week before the start of the grass classic in Wimbledon Shape.
Otte had already reached the semifinals at the ATP tournament in Stuttgart the week before.
Halle/Westphalia – Otte converted his first match point against Chatschanow after 2:11 hours.
In the semi-finals, the German number two will now face the winner of the game between the world number one Daniil Medvedev from Russia and the Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut on Saturday.
