Both provincial.
Both sure of themselves.
Petro because he has a successful political career, he was already a presidential candidate and Mayor of Bogotá;
he led the preference to win the presidency in the polls until the second round in which the race is tied.
Rodolfo, the engineer, is how people know him, because he is a victorious professional.
He made his fortune based on personal effort starting from scratch.
He has been a councilman and Mayor of Bucaramanga, original and controversial.
He uses a popular language with rudeness included and came to the second round from behind like in horse races where the surprise pays more than the favorite.
In a short time he rose in the polls for his rejection of the political class, pointing out that they are responsible for the state of corruption that affects the public administration.
28% of the opinion identified with the engineer in an election in which citizen participation was the highest in the last 20 years.
Going to the second round, the possible voters were divided into halves.
Petro, only those close to him call him Gustavo, seemed to have the presidency assured, if the electoral race was perfected with the second in the poll, Fico Gutiérrez.
When Rodolfo appeared, (outsider) his result overshadowed the victory of Petro, who had taken 40% of the vote.
Analysts suggested when shuffling the result that the votes for Fico would migrate to Rodolfo and the poll was tied.
The petrista proposal has deep programs, well elaborated, it is about a change of the political and economic model;
more difficult to explain.
The rodolfista program is simpler.
All against the corruption of the political class "that steals everything" and its systematic repetition.
Their initiatives always lead to the persecution of the corrupt.
Petro assures that his interest is to put together a pact for life, for peace, a historic pact that includes the fight against corruption.
There was a time when he complained to his advisers about having allowed one of his competitors, Rodolfo, to take over the war against corruption.
Petro's problem is that some, the famous cartoonist and writer Lorenzo Madrigal, to quote the most insistent, see him as a "communist cut" and with a perpetual spirit in power.
Rodolfo's problem is his “tonito”, “lack of manners and impudence”.

The Colombian State is full of regulations to fight against corruption.
Recently, a renowned former prosecutor, Alfonso Gómez Méndez, demonstrated that the pain of corruption was not in the law.
There is enough material to win the battle.
You need to apply them.
The problem is justice, "stupid".
Whatever it is, with Petro or with Rodolfo, Colombia needs a vagrant cry for justice.
The punishment of criminals.
Investigative systems that eliminate the subterfuge of lack of evidence that leads to the demoralizing phenomenon of loss of faith in justice.
Eliminating impunity should be the priority of the new government.
Only judges have the ability to establish the truth.
The media and social networks have to submit to judicial truth.
Colombia has another harrowing obstacle;

It is the last, but not the only episode that compromises the prestige of the Colombian parliament.
Without justice and without Congress, neither Rodolfo nor Petro will be able to govern.
