After almost a year, the restoration work carried out on the facades of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo in Perugia, which began in July 2021, was

completed. The interventions that benefited from the so-called "Facade Bonus" were carried out thanks to the financial support of the Brunello Foundation and Federica Cucinelli and Plenitude, a company controlled by Eni.

The restoration - explains who carried it out - was carried out with "rigorous adherence" to the original architectural structure of 1437 and had such a conservative character as to restore the facades of the Perugian Cathedral to the ancient splendor given to them by the stone master Bartolomeo di Mattiolo.

In addition to the consolidation of the parts in "critical conditions", an accurate treatment was carried out aimed at stopping the degradation which, due to atmospheric agents and other corrosion factors of the limestone and arenite stones, had extended over time Significantly.

Everything was conducted on the basis of the most up-to-date operational methodology of the restoration, also thanks to repeated, targeted preliminary investigations and dedicated test samples.
