Today, 100% of US user data passes through the Oracle Cloud infrastructure

," the application said in a statement on Friday.

This publication precedes by a few hours the publication of an article produced on the subject by Buzzfeed.

The American media has listened to around 80 recordings of internal meetings at TikTok.

These audios indicate that the group's American teams have had significant difficulties in recent months in cutting off Chinese employees' access to American data.

Subject of conflict with Trump

The very popular social network already stored this data in the United States, on its server in Virginia, and also in Singapore.

These data centers should continue to be used for backup backups.

,” said Albert Calamug, head of US public affairs at TikTok.

In the summer of 2020, Donald Trump had tried, via various decrees, to prohibit the application.

He accused him of collecting confidential data and serving in Beijing for espionage, because Chinese law requires companies in the country to share their data if the government asks them.

But TikTok, an international application separate from the Chinese version (Douyin), kept repeating that the information collected, stored in Singapore and the United States, was in no way shared with the Chinese administration.
