Wartenberg/Berglern – The Wartenbergers almost celebrated their folk festival excerpt, the Berglerner were active in sports: The local curling championships took place on Wednesday and Thursday and were well attended.

In the Stockschützenhalle there was a lot going on on all lanes.

But what gives the Wartenbergers a unique position: Emily-Sophie Ehrig had her big performance: The tenth Wartenberg Volksfestkindl rode on horseback in front of the huge pageant.

It was really something to be proud of, everyone who was there was convinced that it was significantly larger than it used to be.

In particular, TSV Wartenberg, as the largest club, could have contested such a pageant alone, so many had come, from all departments and age groups.

All clubs were there.

It started on the market square, the procedure was the well-known one: the market band played, the dance group of the folk costume association performed dances.

Here one could have given the children a little more attention, their performance was a bit off the beaten path.

200 liters of free beer were handed out, and the people from Wartenberg didn't need to be told twice.

What was new at this point was that there were also non-alcoholic drinks - out of consideration for the children who were taking part.

Given the temperatures, it proved to be a blessing to also be able to get a bottle of mineral water.

As always, the move was delayed.

The fire department secured the train.

When he arrived at the fairground, the horses were the first to be pulled out of the hustle and bustle.

That had its good side, because soon after the third shot and the "Ozapft is" the firecrackers from Pesenlern announced unmistakably that they were there too.

Gabi Rilke threw tokens from the carriage, which the children immediately jumped onto.

In his short speech, Mayor Pröbst mainly found words of thanks to everyone who had helped organize the folk festival.

He did register that the participation in the move was huge.

"It's just fun." Volksfestkindl Emily-Sophie Ehrig then announced: "Hereby the Wartenberg folk festival is opened."

It wasn't quite so celebratory in Berglern, more like the opinion of local councilor Robert Krieger, who was sitting at the cash register: "It's a typical Berglerner festival: Cozy, the Berglerner come because they stick together, and it's very well attended for the fact that it's the first day is.”

There were two high-ranking visitors: District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer came to Wartenberg, Erding's Mayor Max Gotz to Berglern.

The division made sense: in Berglern the beer comes from Erding, the Wartenbergers have their own brewery.
