The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported today (Friday) that the Ukrainian army navy sank the Russian cargo ship "Vasily Bach" while carrying anti-aircraft systems to the Snake Island, which Russia occupied in the Black Sea.
It is not known at this time if there were any casualties in the sinking of the vessel, or how the ship sank.
To date, no verification has been received from another source, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Russia has not responded to the allegations, but in the past Moscow has for days concealed damage to Russian naval vessels, including the Russian Black Yemeni flagship sunk by Ukraine in May.
The confrontation between Ukraine and Russia around Snake Island has continued since Russia occupied the island in the first days of the invasion.
The Ukrainian Air Force last month destroyed two landers, a helicopter and three air defense systems on the island.
