On June 2, Msgr. Dominique Rey, bishop of Fréjus-Toulon, announced that the Vatican had asked him to postpone the ten diaconal and priestly ordinations he was to confer at the end of the month.
Evoking a questioning from the Holy See about his seminary, one of the most important in France, and about the welcoming policy he practices in his diocese, the bishop declared receiving the news
"in pain and confidence”
