In Würzburg, the focus is on e-mobility.

Recently there is now also an E-Blitzer.

The citizens don't like the contribution to environmental protection at all.

Würzburg – I didn't pay attention once and it just clicked.

Then, a few days or weeks later, you get mail with a mostly expensive photo.

We're talking about flashers.

Speeding violations are often recorded from cars on the side of the road.

This is also the case in the Lower Franconian district capital of Würzburg.

But now the city leaders have come up with something new.

From now on there will be flashes from the e-car - for the sake of the environment.

E-Blitzer in Würzburg: City affords e-car with the latest technology

The new vehicle was presented on the city's website with the sentence "Environmentally friendly to use".

In addition to the e-bikes that have been in use for two years, an e-car with a modern speed camera is now to ensure the necessary traffic surveillance.

The "old Blitzauto" from 2009 was retired for this, it is said.

With the new e-measuring vehicle, “not only do we comply with the trend-setting city council resolution, the city of Würzburg is actually doing pioneering work in the area of speed controls and, last but not least, making a significant contribution to environmental protection,” says municipal officer Wolfgang Kleiner.

In addition to the latest TraffiStar S350 laser measuring system, which can also be used in curves and blind road sections, the new electric car also offers comfort for the occupants.

To protect e.g.

B. darkened windows and curtains from unwelcome looks from outside.

"Traffic safety and the safety of our employees are very important and have top priority," says Kleiner.

E-Blitzer in Würzburg: Citizens let their frustration out on Facebook

The Facebook followers of the city page are not quite as enthusiastic as the city of Würzburg.

There you can read "what nonsense" and "what a waste of money".

Another believes he has recognized the motive of the city.

“In a project like this, you can easily implement electromobility.

The vehicle is stationary most of the time.” One even asked in disbelief: “Is that satire?” A majority of those commenting also wished that cyclists should also be checked more frequently.

Apparently, cyclists who are too fast are a real problem in Würzburg.

In general, the new E-Blitzer is not well received by the Facebook community.

Many consider the project to be a waste of tax money.

In addition, everything in the city has become far too expensive anyway.

So a follower draws consequences.

“Another reason to avoid Würzburg!

There are now enough options outside of the city to do your shopping/visit the doctor....” Another agrees.

“The red carpet for Amazon.

Makes the city even less attractive for people from outside."
