A first responder took care of a girl (10) after an accident on the A8.

The father is now looking for the woman to say thank you.

All he knows is: She is a doctor and comes from the Dachau area.

Pfaffenhofen – He was on his way to Italy with his daughter on vacation when Andreas Henkel lost control of his car on Thursday last week on the A8 motorway between Holzkirchen and Weyarn.

The 37-year-old from Pfaffenhofen suspects aquaplaning.

It was pouring rain that day.

"Suddenly my own rear overtook me," reports Andreas Henkel.

The vehicle spun four times, scraped the middle, then the right guardrail and came to a crashing stop.

The car: total loss.

But Andreas Henkel and his daughter, whose name he doesn't want to read in the newspaper, are fortunate in misfortune.

Neither the two nor other road users were seriously injured.

"We didn't hit a single car.

That is a miracle for me.”

It only lasted a few minutes before the first cars stopped.

people came.

There was probably a doctor among them.

The father of the family would like to contact the unknown woman.

To say thank you for what the unknown helper did for him and his daughter.

But Andreas Henkel cannot locate the first aider.

The police gave him no information about the unknown helper because of data protection.

The only thing he knows: the woman comes from the Dachau area.

"It's a pity that we can't reach the lady," he says.

"It was so touching how the doctor took care of my daughter."

After the car had come to a standstill on the hard shoulder after the slide, the unknown helper playfully checked Henkel's daughter's condition.

The ten-year-old was in the passenger seat during the accident and her head hit the side window.

"She assured that she was fine, but she was totally shocked," says Andreas Henkel.

She looked at her father with huge doe eyes.

The color in her face was getting paler and paler.

Then his daughter burst into tears.

Family wants to thank the first aider after the accident

"The doctor has not left her side," says Andreas Henkel.

"That helped me tremendously.

I was really upset myself.” In the meantime, the family man, who was also in shock, was able to gather himself.

For him it was his first accident.

"If you haven't experienced anything like this before, you have no idea at first," says the family man.

He called 911, packed a backpack with provisions, and pulled out his raincoat.

It was still raining heavily.

We thank the civilians, the fire brigade, the paramedics and the police for their great help.

It took less than ten minutes for the Holzkirchen fire brigade to arrive.

The emergency services approached the father and his daughter.

And they had brought something for the frightened girl: Benny, the comforting bear.

A cuddly toy with a big snout and a cheeky grin.

"My daughter couldn't let go of the bear," he says.

After an accident on the A8, firefighters are very sensitive

Andreas Henkel was now soaking wet.

He had given his rain jacket to his daughter.

"We were getting cold," he recalls.

The fire brigade forces probably noticed that too and offered the two a place in the fire engine to warm up.

"The fire brigade saw that we were cold without us saying anything," says Andreas Henkel.

This gesture made a deep impression on the father of the family.

Likewise the behavior of the paramedics, who later stopped the police questioning to examine the father and daughter.

"We thank the civilians, the fire brigade, the paramedics and the police for their great help."

Now, a week later, father and daughter have recovered from the shock.

They spent the Pentecost holidays at home.

The ten-year-old drags her new fluffy friend Benny around with her everywhere, says Henkel.

The bear can even sleep with her in bed.

So far, his daughter has only allowed her cuddly rabbit to do this.
