“Push on Russia”: Putin delivers angry speeches against the USA and the EU – and talks about nuclear weapons

Inflation, famine, threats of nuclear weapons: Russia's ruler Vladimir Putin rumbled against the West at the economic forum in St. Petersburg.

Petersburg - Moscow ruler Vladimir Putin addressed the people of his country and the West in a speech at the economic forum in St. Petersburg.

Once again, the Russian president, who started the Ukraine war by attacking his invading troops, commented on Russia's nuclear arsenal.

"We don't threaten anything.

But everyone should know what we have and what we might use to protect our sovereignty,” said the 67-year-old in his hometown of St. Petersburg.

Putin also addressed global inflation and the looming global hunger crisis caused by the Russia-Ukraine war.

"What is happening now is not the result of the last few months, and certainly not the result of a military special operation that Russia is conducting in Donbass," he said at the economic forum.

The reason for the price increases, on the other hand, is "systematic errors in the economic policy of the current US government and the European bureaucracy".

They would "blame their own miscalculations on others, in this case on Russia," he claimed.

Rising energy prices had been observed "long before the start of our mission in Donbass," Putin said, blaming this on an allegedly "failed energy policy" in Europe.

Furthermore, Putin claimed that Russia does not prevent ships loaded with grain from leaving Ukrainian ports.

Instead, Ukraine is to blame for having mined the ports.

Kyiv and the West allegedly have hunger crises in the poorest countries "on their conscience".

Putin also responded to the desire of Ukraine, which was attacked by his troops, to join the European Union (EU).

On Thursday (June 16), German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi spoke out in favor of Kiev joining the EU.

"We don't mind.

It is the sovereign decision of each country to join economic alliances or not,” said Putin in the second largest Russian city, where he was born in 1952: “Unlike NATO, the EU is not a military organization, not a political bloc.” Whether membership Ukraine should know for itself what the EU wants, he said: "But the economic structure of Ukraine is such that it will need very large substitutions."
