With the participation of more than 250 male and female players of different age groups, Sheikh Badr Sports Club in Tartous opened its summer sports schools with karate, chess, football, basketball, swimming, gymnastics and kickboxing.

The club’s president, Ayham Ismail, said in a statement to SANA that “these schools aim to develop and refine children’s skills in an entertaining academic manner and achieve intellectual and physical growth for them,” stressing that these activities seek to unload the players’ energies and fill their free time with new skills and accustom them to healthy habits such as organizing their time and investing it in everything that is useful.

Ismail added, “New games have been introduced to the club’s summer schools this year, namely chess, swimming, kickboxing and athletics, and the aim is to attract talent and promising materials, thus preparing them in an optimal way to be included in the club’s teams later.

Ismail indicated that the club's players have achieved important achievements at the governorate and republic levels in karate, athletics and boxing.
