A 71-year-old drowned in Jordan, a 70-year-old fell into the Banias River - rescue forces were called
The man drowned in the mountainous Jordan River near the Kfar Hanassi bridge.
Rescuers were called to the scene and located him unconscious.
MDA staff had to determine his death on the ground - after being dragged without signs of life, using a helicopter. Another drowning case was reported in which a 70-year-old woman fell from a height into the waters of the Banias River in the north.

Rescue operations in Jordan (MDA)
A 71-year-old man drowned today (Saturday) in the mountainous Jordan River near the Kfar Hanassi bridge.
Rescuers were called to the scene and located him unconscious.
The MDA team was forced to determine his death on the ground - after it was carried out with no signs of life.
The report of the incident was received at the MDA hotline around 12:05.
The man went in to swim in the waters of the Jordan, was swept away by the current and hit in the head.
He was rescued by a unit of Unit 669 and later brought in to team up with the medical staff - they had no access to the drowning point.
They were forced to determine his death on the spot and transferred his body to Ziv Hospital in Safed.

A MDA paramedic who was called to the scene told Doron Kadosh that the man had lost consciousness and drowned. Of 669. The man was located unconscious and his death was determined in the field.
The helicopter rescued
him lifeless and we evacuated his body to Ziv Hospital
. He drowned in the Jordan River near the Gushrim - during a group trip. MDA staff who were called to the scene provided him with medical treatment and performed resuscitation operations there.
A helicopter was also launched for the incident and he was taken to Ziv Hospital in Safed, where he was pronounced dead today.
