Today, As-Suwayda City Council organized a cleaning campaign within the site of the Al-Shuhada neighborhood, “Masaken Al-Qalaa”, with the participation of official, civil and youth activities.
The head of the city council, Eng. Samer Abu Saada, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the campaign includes the work of removing dust and dirt from the sides and axes of the main and secondary roads by council workers and volunteers to improve the reality of hygiene in the city and its streets, stressing the importance of continuing these campaigns and cooperation by citizens to preserve the city and show it properly. .
The director of the environment, Engineer Rifaat Khader, stated in a similar statement that the campaign enhances the role of the local community by contributing to maintaining the cleanliness of neighborhoods and the aesthetics of the city, indicating that the directorate’s participation in the campaign was to secure its requirements from bags to fill and transport garbage.
In turn, the mayor of Al-Shuhada neighborhood Yahya Asqoul indicated that the campaign acquires special importance in the summer to reduce environmental pollution, while one of the neighborhood’s citizens, Salama Al-Mulhim, pointed out the need for everyone to go on their own to maintain cleanliness in the streets and spread awareness among the young generation and within schools about the importance of cleanliness.
The head of the Friends of the Environment Association branch in the city of As-Suwayda, Karam Haidar, expressed the association's keenness on the participation of the city council in all hygiene campaigns in line with its objectives and tasks required of it to preserve the safety of the environment.
The head of the As-Suwayda Governorate Council, Rasmi Al-Aysami, the Deputy Governor of As-Suwayda, Eng. Wael Jarbou, a number of members of the executive office in the governorate, representatives of the Environment Directorate, the neighborhood and people committee, the Friends of the Environment Association and the Revolutionary Youth Union branch participated in the campaign.
