At least 13 people died and another 10 were injured in a car accident that occurred this Saturday on the Mexico-Querétaro highway, in the north of the state of Mexico.
According to the newspaper Milenio, the victims were traveling in a public transport van when the vehicle lost control and hit a tree in the wooded area next to the road.

The occupants of the vehicles traveling on the highway alerted the authorities of the accident.
Several bodies ended up on the road after the impact.

The Civil Protection paramedics of the municipality of Polotitlán came to provide assistance and preliminarily indicated that at least 13 people died as a result of the accident, and that eight were transferred to the local hospital.

The impact occurred on the highway known as 57, which was cordoned off by elements of the National Guard.
Agents from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico also arrived at the scene to start the investigation.
