Finally the time has come: The Bad Kohlgruber can celebrate their big anniversary - albeit with a delay of one year.

They have come up with a few ideas for this.

Bad Kohlgrub – The moor boom breaks out.

Bad Kohlgrub attracts crowds of guests in the 20th century - as if the peculiarity of the idyllic Ammertal village would give it magical powers.

The mountain pine high moor is not such a miracle cure after all, otherwise the locals would have reserved the wooden tubs for themselves permanently.

But the baths are supposed to have a healing effect.

Whether for rheumatism, nerve damage, joint problems and many other health problems.

Even today, people travel to the community to immerse themselves in the black gold - and thus in an important piece of local history.

One that will be greatly appreciated in two weeks.

150 years of moor health baths, says Martin Niklas, "you can celebrate that".

Actually, the anniversary would have been in 2021.

But the corona pandemic threw a spanner in the works for the Bad Kohlgrubers.

"It was quickly foreseeable that it would not work," remembers Niklas, municipal councilor and chairman of the village development association.

He is in charge of organizing the festival weekend on July 2nd and 3rd.

Those responsible waited a long time before planning.

It really started three months ago.

"We didn't want to invest the time unnecessarily," says Niklas in relation to possible renewed restrictions.

Holetschek, Dobrindt and other politicians come

The time to set up such an event – the community is responsible for it – was short.

But she was enough.

The preparations are almost complete, it's just a matter of assigning the helpers.

Niklas praises the cooperation of those involved.

"It all works really well, it slides," he emphasizes.

"You don't have to run after a lot."

Makes for a great atmosphere on Saturday: the band Dreisam-Live.

The head of the club is satisfied with the program.

He puts a sheet of paper on the table, an overview of the highlight of the anniversary celebration: There will be a pageant with ten decorated carriages, complete with horse and carts, and 20 infantry troops on Sunday (see "Program").

With the exception of the three brass bands from Altenau, Bad Bayersoien and Saulgrub, only locals take part, says Niklas.

The Bad Kohlgruber have come up with some ideas.

They creatively implement topics such as healing water, Wiesmahd, hunting, old handicrafts and of course the moor.

Spa guests "through time", skiing "over the years" or Köhler with their tools are also presented.

Absolutely authentic, emphasizes Niklas.

"It's not supposed to be carnival." Of course, there is also a carriage of honor for the "VIPs".

Alexander Dobrindt,

Kurpark as a suitable venue

The move leads from the Lory-Schärfl car workshop to the VR-Bank and back to the Kurpark.

While a large tent used to be set up at the fairground for festive occasions, this time the event will take place there.

Fully aware.

"We wanted to do more of a park festival," says Niklas.

In the beautiful ambience of the spa park with its cozy spots.

There are also picnic baskets with regional food that can be eaten to the sound of alphorns.

A bit more hustle and bustle is to be expected for Saturday evening.

The band Dreisam-Live performs in the concert shell.

It was important to Niklas and his organization team that "we cover the entire population", that the boys can party a bit.

Because on Sundays, he emphasizes, "we are traditionally out and about" - in honor of the Bad Kohlgruber remedy.
