A person was killed in a fire that broke out in a petrochemical company in Shanghai, east China.
"The fire broke out at the ethylene glycol plant of the Chemistry Department of Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd., which is located in the city's Jinshan District, and a motorist was found dead, while an employee of the company was slightly injured," the company was quoted by Xinhua as saying in a statement today.
The company indicated that the firefighting and rescue teams were able to control the fire without recording any impact on the water environment near the factory.
Investigations are underway to uncover the causes and circumstances of the fire.
