After four years there should be a new edition of the village shooting: The SG Wackersberg-Arzbach is still looking for a new shooting range.

Wackersberg

– The Wackersberger Schützen are happy: After a four-year break, they will finally be hosting a village shooting again next week.

Since 1994, the shooting has been held at three-year intervals.

From June 20th to 23rd, all residents of Wackersberg and Schlegldorf as well as local companies, clubs and their employees and members can now prove their shooting skills.

"Anyone can take part," confirms marksman Hans Heufelder.

For example, neighbors could also get together to form a group.

What is new is that this time the shooting will take place in the summer.

"Actually, the main operation always takes place from the end of September to March," says Heufelder.

Due to the unclear Corona situation, "we wanted to try it in the summer".

And the appointment should also fulfill another purpose:

It starts next week

As reported, the Schützengesellschaft became an independent club in 2020 and has no longer been a division of the sports club since then.

So nothing came of the plans that had envisaged that a new shooting range could be built next to the new gymnasium in Arzbach.

"We're still looking for a shooting range," says Heufelder.

Maybe it would help if a lot of people from the village came together.

Because maybe there is hope for a plot of land for the new site.

There have already been a number of discussions, and plots of land have already been offered.

"But unfortunately it always broke because it was outside or the neighbors objected."

Wackersberger Schützen: dispute with sports club overcome

The waves with the sports club have since smoothed out, says Heufelder.

After the shooters left, the atmosphere was tense for a while.

"But now we have signed a rental agreement with the SV, and the club has also accommodated us during the difficult Corona period." The fears of those responsible for the SV had not come true: a number of members had to leave the club because they now only feel a part of Sagittarius.

"There were only a few," reports Heufelder.

In the village area there is a completely different kind of club loyalty.

Now the sports club also takes part in the village shooting, all differences are shelved.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Bad Tölz newsletter.

In any case, the shooters survived the difficult time well.

The number of members has balanced at 76.

"Maybe a few more will come through shooting," Heufelder hopes.

The youth work is also going well, although Corona has left its mark here.

"Before the crisis we always had up to 20 children and young people with us, now there are 13 or 14." But that's still good.

In the youth district shooting, the Wackersberger Schützen were the third strongest club with ten participants.

For the youngest there is the opportunity for the first time to gain experience with the light gun at this village shooting.

You can try this from the age of six or seven.

How many participants will come?

That's difficult to estimate, says Heufelder.

"Between 160 and 220," he guesses.

"I just hope it goes well."
