German tourist drowned in front of a Spanish holiday island – fatal bathing accidents are increasing

Two tourists died in swimming accidents on the Balearic Islands on Friday.
Including a 71-year-old German on Formentera.
Sant Francesc de Formentera – On Friday evening (June 17) a German tourist drowned on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Formentera.
As the newspaper
Ultima Hora
reports with reference to the Samu rescue service, the 71-year-old tourist was pulled lifeless from the water on a beach in the south of the island around 6 p.m. on Friday evening.
Attempts at resuscitation by rescue workers were unsuccessful.

Although the Samu confirmed the nationality of the casualty, he gave no further information about the identity of the tourist.
Which state the 71-year-old comes from is therefore still unknown at the moment.
Formentera is the second smallest island of the Balearic Islands belonging to Spain and, like Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca, is a popular holiday destination - especially among German tourists.
At about the same time as the incident, a fatal swimming accident also occurred on Mallorca.
Swimming accident in Mallorca: 40-year-old tourist drowned
At the bay of Cala s'Almunia in the south of the island, bathers discovered a man at the bottom of the sea.
A police officer who happened to be present pulled the victim out of the water and immediately initiated resuscitation measures.
However, these were also unsuccessful.
The dead man is said to be a 40-year-old tourist from South Korea.
The swimming accident is said to have happened before the eyes of his relatives.

reports, there have been several fatal swimming accidents on the beaches of the Balearic Islands in the past few weeks.
A 73-year-old drowned in a bay in the southeast of Mallorca on Wednesday (June 15).
Spain is currently experiencing the worst June heat wave since 1950 - forest fires are the result.
A tragic swimming accident also happened a few days ago in the Munich area.
Two men died as a result.
