After extreme heat and never seen for the month of June, part of the French will be able to find a more breathable atmosphere from Saturday evening.

However, the mercury will remain high in the South-West, North-East and Center-East, with temperatures between 30 and 37°C on Monday and Tuesday afternoon, according to forecasts by La Chaîne Météo*.

Heat records were broken on Saturday morning, with 30°C observed almost everywhere in France.
In Niort (Deux-Sèvres), it was already 33 degrees in the middle of the morning, and 31°C were recorded in Saint-Nazaire.
The 40 degree mark will be reached in many areas this afternoon.
Peaks of up to 43 or 44 degrees are expected in the afternoon.
An uneven decline
Temperatures will drop from 5 p.m. in the northwestern part, from the Channel coast to Brittany.
Then in the evening, the air will be less and less hot in the departments between Loire-Atlantique, Haute-Normandie and the North.
The wind will blow strong from Pas-de-Calais to Brittany, with gusts of up to 70 km/h.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected locally.

The deterioration will continue on Sunday morning, with a sharp drop in the thermostat in the Paris basin.
From the regions of Pays de la Loire to Hauts-de-France, the mercury will oscillate between 14 and 17°C only.
But in Alsace, in the Rhône valley as well as in Provence, the weather will still be very heavy on Sunday, with peaks around 35 degrees.
For example, 37°C are forecast in the Lyon basin in the afternoon, as well as 38 in Strasbourg.

Very high temperatures will persist on Monday and Tuesday between the South-West and the North-East.
