Moment of shock on the plane: The reason for the flooding was probably a faulty valve
According to British Airways, the floods were caused by a faulty valve regulating the onboard drinking water tank, the
Daily Mail
reported.
The airline went on to say that there was never a risk to the safety of passengers.
“The flight continued safely to Washington and landed as usual.
A defective valve was replaced and the problem fixed," a spokesman said.
A British Airways official also told the
Sun
: "Having a waterfall on board is not very common at BA.
It looked more like British Waterways than British Airways.
In any case, the crew thanked them for the leak that opened towards the end of the Atlantic crossing."
