For a long time it was not clear whether the popular Gröbenzell Music Night would even exist again in this form after the long Corona break.

Now one thing is certain: It is back and offers a number of special features - also in terms of the height of the venues.

Gröbenzell - New locations, new bands and new energy: After two corona-related cancellations, the Gröbenzell Music Night is back and will take place on July 2nd, 2022 in its 16th edition.

"Every crisis also harbors an opportunity," emphasized organizer Thomas Breitenfellner during a press conference on the floor.

"It hasn't been clear for a long time whether they will ever exist again in this form, so it's a special music night!"

On the roof terrace of the town hall

It will be a comeback with numerous premieres, it starts with the opening: it takes place at 6.30 p.m. on the roof terrace of the town hall.

"The mayor had the great idea of including the town hall - now that it is in the heart of Gröbenzell," said Breitenfellner.

His "Special Guest" Martin Schäfer added: "It's really nice up there.

Because we're not the party place par excellence, but an administration building, let's start a little earlier."

The head of the town hall chose the "Claxs Acoustic Trio" for the performance high above the roofs of the community.

It was important to him that local artists perform, especially since they have had it extremely difficult in the past two years.

Before the opening

At that time the duo "Clax" had become the trio "Claxs".

"When we found each other as a band, we ran straight into the first lockdown," remembers Claudia Röser.

In 2021, the woman from Gröbenzell hit rock bottom with her inquiries: “First of all, all bands should perform, some of whose dates have already been postponed several times.” The trio is feverishly looking forward to their first Corona-compliant living room concerts and a company event big performance.

Röser says: "We are happy and very honored that we can open the music night."

Nine of the 15 bands have never been there.

"The Troubleshooters" played in the witch 15 years ago and since 2011 consistently on the floor.

The "Rockaholixs Buam", who regularly appear at the music night, broke up six months ago.

The previous open-air area on Bahnhofstraße is now a bicycle parking lot including a wildflower meadow and has therefore moved a few meters further to house number 7 ½.

Next to the town hall, Burgerbar (formerly Weinbauer), Maya Coffee & More (formerly Etiquette by Daniel) and Meisterschnitt are offering a stage for the first time.

pilot project

The cooperation with the Herrensalon is a kind of pilot project for Breitenfellner: "Your best ideas come in the shower, but I had this one at the hairdresser's." Owner Umut Simsek lives in Esting and enjoyed the last music night of 2019 to the fullest.

After eight years as a hairdresser in Munich, he opened the shop in Gröbenzell.

"I want to get involved in the community, community is important to me," explains Simsek.

He's excited to see what awaits him on July 2nd.

He liked Breitenfellner's suggestion to place the "Free Wave Jazz Quintet" with him.

Pre-sale is running

Advance sales for the event, which drew up to 4,000 visitors in the past, have now been running for a good two weeks.

A lot has been played through - how it could have gone under Corona conditions - and the question of whether people are ready again after the long break, said Breitenfellner: "But the live experience can't be replaced by anything, that was clearly shown to us by the floor opening in May.

Sold out in advance, 700 guests.

We all missed that, and that's exactly the feeling I'm hoping for at the music night!"

tickets

are available at all venues for 12 euros in advance or for 15 euros at one of the box offices.

Unlimited access to all live concerts, the after-show party and free use of the Musiknacht shuttle bus.
