In the traditional Tölz district of Gries, work on the redesign of the traffic areas continues.
Recently, the construction site was plagued by bad luck.
Bad Tölz – Jungmayrplatz in Bad Tölz has been closed to traffic again for a few days.
According to a statement by City Hall spokeswoman Birte Otterbach, the reason for this is paving work as part of the redesign of the open and traffic areas.
They started last Monday and are expected to last about five weeks on this sub-area.
"Construction site in Gies is a challenge for everyone"
"The construction site in Gries is a real challenge for everyone," says Mayor Ingo Mehner.
After corona-related delays and delivery problems with the granite paving delivered from Portugal, there were also difficulties with the subcontractor who should have laid the wild association in the spring.
"This series of delays requires a lot of patience from residents and traders in Gries," said the head of town hall, who apologized for the inconvenience.
According to Birte Otterbach, the granite paving at Jungmayrplatz is currently being laid.
At the same time, the divisions in Konradgasse and Botengasse were brought in.
"The bands of gred slabs are also laid along the rows of houses before the natural stone covering is finally brought in here too," the spokeswoman continued.
The work within this entire first construction phase would be coordinated in such a way that delivery traffic and disposal as well as rescue operations would be possible at any time.
It is planned that the work will be completed by September - "provided that we are spared further delays", as Mehner restricts.

The shops around Jungmayrplatz are also open at all times during the construction work and can be reached on foot.
It is still unclear when the second and third construction phase can begin: According to the city, fundamental decisions on flood protection must first be made.
