The Russian Senator from Crimea, Sergey Tsykov, stressed that reconsidering the recognition of the Donbass republics is "impossible", noting that a number of Ukrainian regions are seeking to join Russia.
In response to the statements of the head of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation, David Arachamia, about the possibility of Kyiv returning to the negotiating table next August, Tsikov was quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency as saying that reconsidering Russia's recognition of the Donbass republics is impossible, and that a number of Ukrainian regions wish to become part of Russia. Pointing out that such Ukrainian statements indicate that they do not want to reach any agreements.
Tsikov added: The situation may be different next August, and I am sure that Donbass will be completely liberated.
