Ruthless cleric: Iranian official behind terrorist attacks in Turkey Israel today

2022-06-18T08:04:07.743Z

Just a few weeks ago the head of intelligence in Iran sounded more confident • Now, Hussein Tayeb who brutally suppressed mass protests and saw children being sent to their deaths, now fears for his job

Hussein Tayeb, whose name made headlines on Friday as the instigator of terrorist attacks against Israelis on Turkish soil, is one of the top figures in the Revolutionary Guards.

A cleric, who has been head of intelligence for more than a decade, and is now reportedly afraid of losing his job in the face of a series of mysterious deaths in various places in Iran attributed to Israel.

Tayeb was born in the 1960s and learned the secrets of Islamic law in centers in Tehran, Qum and Mashhad.

Among his classmates was also the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic today - Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

After the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Tayeb joined the Revolutionary Guards and served in secret positions in the organization in the provinces of the cities of Tehran, Mashhad and Qom.

Taib served, among other things, as the coordinator with the supreme leader and senior member of the intelligence organization.

He was also entrusted with the Basij organization: a notorious militia in Iran founded by the leader of the Islamic Revolution - Ayatollah Ruhallah Khomeini.

Over the years, Basij recruited into his ranks boys, children and women who were sent to the front in the Iran-Iraq war, in which Tayeb lost his brother in one of the operations.

During the bloody war, masses of Basij children went out to minefields in the war zones to die a "martyr's death" and make way for the forces.

The Basij also served as an auxiliary force of the police to suppress protests in various areas of Iran.

To his current position as head of the Revolutionary Guards intelligence organization, he was appointed in October 2009. This was after he was involved in the brutal repression of the mass protest that erupted following the controversial election results in the summer of that year.

Against this background, the US State Department imposed sanctions on Tayeb for human rights violations in Iran. His involvement in the killings, torture and arrests of protesters, also led to EU sanctions. His assets were frozen and he was banned from stepping on European soil.

"Calls for dismissal"

As mentioned, Tayeb is the one behind the terrorist attacks in Turkey.

According to recent reports, voices from the Iranian security establishment are demanding that he be ousted.

It is not just about the deaths in Iran, but also the failure to carry out a response attack in Turkey.

In April, Tayeb further boasted and sounded more confident in a speech he delivered at an organized conference.

"Jerusalem with God's help will be liberated soon," the Iranian official said. "Iran knows that Israel is afraid. The Zionists have reached the bottom of the abyss. .

We will not look away from the enemy. "

Now, the reports describe Tayeb as "a frantic wounded animal, who out of deep anxiety for his position vis-à-vis Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, is trying in a deep frenzy to carry out at all costs an attack on Israelis in Turkey and elsewhere."
