Some of the attacks in Turkey have been thwarted - the threat still exists Israel today

The revelation of Hussein Taib, who is responsible for the planned attacks in Istanbul, marks a target circle around his head • He will now look apprehensively over his shoulder, when he leaves the house or when he sees a casual motorcycle passing by on the street; Chased without a name and face - he suddenly became a persecutor

The warning affair about an intention to carry out attacks in Istanbul is far from over.

A storm could only be announced when the potential terrorists were arrested or left in Turkey.

It did not happen, or rather: it did not happen in full.

In recent days, although some attacks have been thwarted or disrupted, the threat is alive and kicking.

It bothers not only the Israelis but also the Turks, because it obliges them to invest a tremendous effort - in manpower, in intelligence, in money - in the pursuit of squads in Istanbul.

This effort, which is only partially visible, is concentrated in the main entertainment sites in the city as well as in hotels that Israelis like.

The Turks, according to their interlocutors in Israel, are very serious.

They understand very well that this is not only the delicate relations with Israel, but also their good name and a significant source of income - tourists at the beginning of the summer season.

In recent days, considerable effort has been made to locate and map the Israelis who choose to ignore the warnings and fly to Istanbul.

It turns out that about half of them arrive there only for the purpose of passage (connection) and do not leave the airport.

For them, the travel warning is irrelevant because the airports are well protected and guarded.

The second group are tourists, most of whom go to Turkey for various treatments - from hair transplants to other cosmetic treatments.

Since these are pre-arranged treatments as part of a series, they are afraid that the treatments will be harmed and therefore most of them tend not to cancel their trip.

And yet, even for them the harsh warnings have done something: they do fly to Istanbul, but hurry from the treatment back to the hotel and give up entertainment in the city.

As part of the counterterrorism efforts, a fascinating mind game is taking place between Israel and Iran.

Thus, the exposure on Saturday night of Hussein Taib, head of the Revolutionary Guards intelligence organization and the man responsible for the planned attacks in Istanbul.

This is a man with a long record of terrorism and intimidation in Iran and abroad.

Whoever follows him tells of a cruel commander who used to gamble on the entire pot - including in the present case.

Taib has been known for years to security officials in Israel and the West.

Presumably he was also under close surveillance.

But the decision to publicly mark him as the person behind the current incident also marks a circle of target around his head.

Presumably, he would now look apprehensively over his shoulder when he left the house or when he saw a casual motorcycle passing by on the street.

Chased without a name and face, he suddenly became a persecutor who was required to make an effort to preserve his life.

The explicit threat issued last night by Defense Minister Ganz ("Israel is preparing to respond forcefully to any harm to its citizens - anywhere") is also intended for precisely this purpose: to make the matter personal, and to make him and his colleagues in Tehran afraid.

In Israel, it was clarified over the weekend that once the threat is removed - whether the cell is stopped or flees - the travel warning to Istanbul will also be removed.

It could happen tomorrow, and it could last for many more weeks.

It all depends on the degree of Iranian determination, the degree of intelligence and Israeli-Turkish cooperation, and also quite a bit on luck.

But even after the warning and warning are lifted - hopefully without the attack - Iran will continue to seek revenge.

The series of recent actions attributed to Israel in Tehran, following the Air Force's relentless attacks on arms shipments to Syria and the ongoing shuffle over the nuclear deal, ensure that we have another hot summer ahead of Iran.
