The neighbors of the 60-year-old man who was shot to death today (Saturday) in Ramat Gan are having a hard time digesting the family conflict that has degenerated into a shocking murder.

One of the neighbors said that he still had time to go with the victim to the synagogue, and when they returned around 10:00, the worst of all happened.

"I saw a lot of police and ambulances, I was sure they were criminals but no - it's just a grandfather who killed a grandfather," said another neighbor.

According to the suspicion, in an incident that took place this morning, a resident of the city was shot dead by his father-in-law, a 70-year-old resident of Petah Tikva, with the background to the shooting apparently being a divorce dispute between their children over custody of one of the grandchildren.

Acquaintances said the murder suspect was holding a gun without a license.

"It's inconceivable, a shocking story," the neighbor added.

Another tenant in the building said: "It is a quiet place here, there is even a pool. Suddenly we heard some shots and shouts. I have lived here for 22 years - and I have never seen anything like it."

Another person familiar with the details of the family dispute said the suspect in the murder suspected that his grandson was not interested in seeing Emet because of the bride's father, which is why he was shot.

Another tenant of a building said that "this is a normative family. The grandfather who was shot is a good person, it was really surprising and I did not believe he was murdered."

He further shared: "I saw them take him down on a stretcher after the shooting, it's tough. Everyone took it hard, everyone knows who it is, it's an old family, he lived here full of years. Everyone is sad here about what happened. It's a terrible story. Poor daughter "The assumption is that it has to do with the grandson and the time arrangements."
