The head of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, asserted that the West, which tried to isolate Russia, ended up isolating itself.

Commenting on the results of the Petersburg International Economic Forum, Volodin said on his Telegram account, "Yesterday, representatives of 127 countries whose population constitutes 73 percent of the world's population participated in the Saint Petersburg Forum. The West tried to isolate Russia, but in the end it isolated itself."

"The basic things for us are to be independent, have sovereignty and ensure future development," Volodin added.

In his speech yesterday before the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the era of unipolarity in the world ended despite all Western attempts to preserve it.
