The operator of the Blombergbahn submitted an application in the most recent municipal council meeting.

He wants to buy solar cells for the Blomberg car park.

Wackersberg – Generating your own electricity seems an attractive undertaking, especially in a time of high energy prices.

This is also the view of the operator of the Blombergbahn, who has now submitted an application to the Wackersberg municipal council.

In the near future he would like to install solar modules on the northern parking lot of the Blombergbahn.

A wooden construction similar to a carport is being considered, the roof of which is to be provided with modules.

Solar panels are to be installed in the north parking lot

Vehicles can park underneath.

The councilors were all enthusiastic about the idea.

"It's perfect for a place like that," said Hans Demmel, and Klaus Braun agreed: "You can't use a place next to a road any better." Mayor Jan Göhzold also said: "The cars are in the shade, you don't have to sacrificing additional space, that's perfect.” The mayor was skeptical about whether the wish to become completely energy self-sufficient would be fulfilled.

"It will probably not be possible."

Wackersberg: councils impressed by the idea

In addition, the parking lot at the Blombergbahn has recently also had parking spaces with charging options for electric cars.

In the course of the parking lot conversion, the municipality would also like to suggest that the existing cycle path should be given a new course.

In the current plan, it is now even closer to the main road, which could exacerbate the situation with cars turning and cyclists driving through.

"It's not good like that," remarked Göhzold.

Suggestion: new route for the cycle path

Barbara Camelly asked whether you couldn't put the bike path around the back.

The cycle path can then branch off to the right coming from Tölz and can thus be passed without much contact with the car.

Only those who want to cycle to the train station would then have to cross the parking lot.

In addition, this would defuse the dangerous situation with the existing underpass.

The council voted unanimously to change the development plan and to commission the planner if the costs are borne by the applicant.

The new cycle path planning will be included in the change.
