In order to be able to demonstrate near Elmau Castle, opponents of the G7 summit are brought to the conference venue by police bus.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen - In order to be able to protest against the G7 summit in Elmau within sight of the conference venue, opponents of the meeting want to be taken to Elmau Castle in police buses.
A spokeswoman for the “Stop G7 Elmau” alliance said on Saturday that they had been promised that they would be allowed to protest with a delegation of 50 demonstrators near the hotel.
"Anyone who wants to go to the security zone must provide their personal details, be searched and be taken there by police bus."
G7 opponents are planning protest camps and demos for the summit at Schloss Elmau
- they are demanding more climate protection and more help for poorer countries from the industrialized countries.

That was "an unbelievable curtailment of our freedom of assembly and thus of our fundamental rights," criticized the spokeswoman.
As a result, some demonstrators did not want to attend the meeting.
The district office of Garmisch-Partenkirchen initially did not comment on the meeting and the allegations.

The G7 opponents ultimately decided to use the opportunity to protest near Elmau Castle, the alliance said.
"It is especially the people from the countries most affected by the destructive G7 policy who are not heard by the G7," said the organizer of the rally.
“It is therefore all the more important that we use this opportunity to make their voices heard and their struggle visible.
A major demo has also been announced for Munich.
