Amid the Ukraine war, Putin's Foreign Minister Lavrov admits that Russia is not "squeaky clean."

However, he showed no remorse about the invasion.

Moscow - In the Ukraine conflict, the troops of Russian ruler Vladimir Putin are stepping up their military efforts in eastern Ukraine.

This map shows where the Ukraine war is raging.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has now commented on the situation.

He repeated well-known positions of the Kremlin and admitted that Russia is not "squeaky clean".

However, he showed no remorse about the war.

Ukraine war: Lavrov repeats Kremlin portrayal again - "special operation" and "denazification"

"We declared a military special operation because we just couldn't find any other way to explain to the West that it is criminal to drag Ukraine into NATO," Lavrov said in an interview with the British broadcaster BBC, in line with the often-tapped Russian depiction of war.

Accordingly, Lavrov also claimed: "We did not invade Ukraine." Russia is merely "denazifying" Ukraine, according to Putin's foreign minister.

The Nazi argument keeps popping up in Kremlin circles as one of the main justifications for the Ukraine invasion.

In the BBC interview, Lavrov took up this again.

He has previously been accused of anti-Semitism during this debate.

After the rhetoric of "denazification" was confronted with the counter-argument that Zelenskyj himself was of Jewish origin, Lavrov caused shock waves and outrage in Israel with a statement.

"It means absolutely nothing that Zelenskyy is of Jewish origin, even Hitler had Jewish blood in my opinion," Lavrov said.

Ukraine war: "We are not ashamed to show who we are" - Putin's foreign minister clearly

In an interview with the BBC, Russia's foreign minister also made clear Moscow's position on the Ukraine war.

Apparently the Kremlin does not feel compelled to justify the invasion of the neighboring country.

"Russia is not squeaky clean," Lavrov surprisingly admitted.

But Russia is "what it is," he declared, adding, "We are not ashamed to show who we are."

In addition, the Russian foreign minister was made aware of a United Nations report documenting potential human rights abuses in the village of Yahidne in the Chernihiv region: “360 residents, including 74 children and five people with disabilities, were forced by Russian soldiers to stay for 28 days in a living in the basement of a school.

There were no sanitation facilities, no water.

Ten elderly people died.”

Lavrov responded by questioning the integrity of the United Nations and making allegations of forgery: "It is a great pity that international diplomats, including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Secretary-General and other UN officials, are being attacked by the West pressure set.

And very often they are used to amplify fake news spread by the West.”
