Damascus-SANA (Psalms of Pain) by the poet Yusra Mustafa is a collection of poetry belonging to the poetry of Al-Tafilah and carrying the genes of modernity.

Damascus-SANA

(Psalms of Pain) by the poet Yusra Mustafa is a poetic group belonging to the poetry of Al-Fathilih and carrying the genes of poetic modernity through the structure of the poem in form and content.

It seems that the poet has lived for a long time in Yemen, because the collection contains a large number of poems in which she is in solidarity with the Yemeni people in their plight, and in which he mentions many places, mountains, villages and cities that seem to have a relationship with the poet’s memory, such as the poem “Afir Dahyan” and “Children of Yemen” and “Festan Belqis” and to Samih Al-Yamani And the travels of the shroud, in which she said: “If you were from the people of Yemen... a child playing in the morning in that shroud... then know that you are in the dictionaries of the shroud’s misfortunes.”

The social dimension in the group also appears through the poet’s vision in some poems of eastern customs and traditions and her view of women rejecting these social standards, calling for the liberation of Eastern women from their chains, as in the poem “A Message to an Sharqi”.

The homeland also has a wide area in the group in its national and patriotic dimensions, where the poet’s national feeling appears in a number of poems, as in “The Cornet Banner” in which she said: “Despite death in my homeland… Despite thorns and adversities… My arteries still share you… Arab blood cells.” .

The sense of patriotism appears in a large number of poems, including the story of a homeland, the blood of the foothills, and the horn of Satan, in which the city of Jasmine awakens the wounded Damascus to be the imam of Arabism, saying: “Arise, Damascus, and let me be in their sanctuary… the pigeons stop cooing.”

The collection issued by the Syrian General Book Organization is 248 pages of medium size, and it is mentioned that the poet Mustafa, born in Tartous, has three manuscripts under printing, including the delirium of anger.
