A new batch of plastic talents graduate from Adham Ismail Center

Damascus, SANA- The Adham Ismail Center for Fine Arts launched today 26 male and female artists through the exhibition of their graduation projects.

Today, Adham Ismail Center for Fine Arts launched 26 male and female artists through their graduation projects exhibition to supplement the Syrian plastic scene with their distinctive talents.

The exhibition included 49 paintings with a size of 50 x 70 cm, using oil-colored technology. The graduates’ topics varied between portraiture, with its realistic and expressive connotations, silent nature, natural scenes, perspective, old Damascene homes and lanes, professions and traditional costumes, in addition to various human and psychological topics, with some paintings addressing issues related to childhood.

Regarding the exhibition, the head of the center, Qusai Al-Asaad, said in a statement to SANA reporter: “The exhibition is a launch for a constellation of fine artistic buds to navigate in the world of art and present the best production they have in order to achieve their desires and convey their feelings through fine art in the world of beauty,” indicating that the exhibition achieves the center’s goal and objective. In presenting graduates and graduates to the public and launching them to work in the Syrian plastic arts scene.

Graduated Rima Al-Rifai chose portraiture, which she considers the permanent subject of her paintings, an attempt to move away from the traditional in drawing the foreground of two paintings that include two girls who have distinctive signs in the color of hair and skin, while focusing on the lighting of the compositional elements of the two paintings and their fading in the background.

The graduate, Yasmine Kaddoura, presented her project on handicrafts to shed light on the Syrian heritage, choosing the professions of leather industries, inlays with mother of pearl, and wood carving, introducing several skilled craftsmen of various ages to emphasize the necessity of inheriting these professions from generation to generation.

The project of graduate student Amani Al-Ghalati on human moods, embodying the speed and intensity of the flow of feelings and emotions among people, and the extent of its impact on their psychological states and feelings, ranging from happiness, contentment, anger and distress, to frustration and indifference.

Graduate Fatima Al-Masry showed the aesthetics of the old Damascus neighborhoods in one of her two paintings, so that her second painting includes an artistic composition of street waste with different materials to give the subject a special aesthetic.

The two graduates, Nour Al-Huda Al-Qaddah and Raghad Al-Tahhan, used in their project the style of the international artist Rembrandt in terms of shade and light and the choice of colors.

The child, the hero of the paintings of the two graduates, Dalin Al-Aas and Yara Safaya, came to translate each of them in their own way the meanings of innocence and tenderness in the world of childhood. The graduate, Ghina Tanta, resorted to embodying her room in her old Damascene house through her project paintings, moving away from the subject of graduate Reem Al Faouri, in which she presented the portrait with feelings of jealousy.

The graduate, Reham Taraghji, expressed her view of the concept of inclusion through three paintings whose themes varied. The graduate, Duaa Al-Taweel, embodied women in the rural environment, while the graduate, Shaher Hawasli, dived into the misery of homeless childhood and hope for a better tomorrow.

As for the graduate, Rama Rihan, she moved towards portraying the idea of ​​waiting for the female to become a mother. Her sister, Rana, did not stray from the feelings of love in her project, but she turned towards the mother and all the details related to her symbolizing her in the big house that includes everyone.
