Since 1998, the municipality of Pöcking has regularly organized a street festival.

However, the celebration had to be canceled due to the corona virus.

The friends among the locals are all the greater that the popular festival can take place again on Saturday, July 2nd.

Around 50 activities are offered.

Pöcking - From the social service Pöcking to the DLRG, the community library, the SC Pöcking-Possenhofen and the fraternity to the Bundeswehr.

Almost no club, no institution and no local company wants to take part in the street festival in Pöcking.

Around 50 activities are offered on Saturday, July 2, from 2 p.m. along the main road to the Ahornweg.

"The festival has been around since 1998, when the bypass was built," says Albert Luppart, cultural officer and second mayor of the community.

It took place every two years until 2018, when the pandemic stopped the event.

"You can tell that the citizens have fun and want to do something again." The commitment is huge, says Luppart.

At 2 p.m., the Pöcking brass band and the drummer march from Raiffeisenplatz to the Bründl entrance and back again.

This is followed by a stop at the Gasthaus zur Post with a small welcome from Mayor Rainer Schnitzler and Luppart.

"With the street festival, we want to show what Pöcking can do and who is doing something in the village," emphasizes Schnitzler.

In addition to various culinary stands, there will also be dance performances by the Pöckinger carnival club as well as balloon figures and tricks by the magician Zodiac and his assistants.

Luppart expects several thousand visitors, including those from neighboring communities.

The main street as well as the upper part of the Ascheringer Weg and the Ahornweg will be closed to traffic for the construction of the festival mile from 12 p.m.

In the event of bad weather, there will be an alternative date.

"Should there be a thunderstorm or rain all day, the festival will be moved to Sunday, July 3rd," says Luppart.
